General Terms and Conditions of Rental 1.Confirmation and Payment for accommodation
1.1 Confirmation of booking
The confirmation of reservation must be sent in written, either by email on address reservation@mauritiusvillas.mu or by fax on number (230) 696 8999, following which, a deposit has to be settled in order to secure the booking.
1.2 Payment of deposit
Payment of the rental deposit constitutes the client's acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Payments may be made by cash, bank transfer or credit card.
Payments made by credit card imply processing fees, reflecting bank charges for all card payments. This processing fee varies between 3% to 5% depending on the card used.
A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required upon confirmation in order to secure the booking.The deposit amount may vary according to certain property owner's policy and this shall not exceed 50%. The booking will not be confirmed until such time as the deposit has been paid and the respective owner has approved the letting.
1.3 Payment of balance
The remaining balance due on the rental is payable at latest 30 days prior to the arrival date of clients. Should a payment fail to be effected on the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation.
1.4 Cancellation policy
A notice of cancellation of rental must be sent in written either by email on address reservation@mauritiusvillas.mu, or by fax on number (230) 696 8999.
A notice of cancellation received more than 30 days prior to arrival involves 30% cancellation fees (deposit retained). This cancellation fee may vary according to certain property owner's policy and this shall not exceed 50%.
A notice of cancellation received less than 30 days prior to arrival involves 100% cancellation fees.
Unexpected departure during the stay involves 100% cancellation, or no refund.
1.5 Force Majeure policy
A booking cancelled because of force majeure events or any acts of GOD do also involve cancellation fees. Please refer to clause 1.4.
2. Prices of studios, apartments and villas
2.1 Exchange Rate
The prices are published in EUROS (€).
Should there be an important fluctuation in the conversion of the exchange rate from EURO (€) to Mauritian Rupees (MUR), we reserve the right to adjust the prices accordingly.
3. Tennant's obligagtions
3.1 Obligagtions and maximum occupancy
The tennants shall under no circumstances whatsoever sublet the premises or occupy the property with more persons than specified upon booking.
3.2 Period of rental and minimum stay
The rental shall be strictly on a temporary basis, and the tennants undertake to leave the property on the date and time indicated at time of booking.
The minimum stay in all accommodation rentals of mauritiusvillas.mu is 5 days, unless otherwise specified.
During the peak season (over Christmas and New Year) the minimum stay is 12 days, unless otherwise specified.
3.3 Breakage and damage to the property
A refundable security deposit equivalent to 3 nights accommodation or 50% of the period of rental (whichever the lesser) may be claimed by certain property owners upon arrival. This security deposit is designed to cover any additional costs incurred including but not limited to, any breakages, damage or excessive cleaning requirements.
If no security deposit is claimed upon arrival, the tennants undertake to refund in full any damage done to the premises, or important breakages of the property's equipment,or excessive cleaning before their scheduled departure from the property.
3.4 Travel insurance
It is strongly recommended to take out a multi-risk travel insurance policy to be covered against medical problems, public and civil liabilities, loss or damage to personal property as well as cancellation charges.
4. Arrival and departure procedures
Unlike hotels, there is no check-in nor check-out time imposed, unless otherwise specified. However, it is advisable to inform our services in advance at what time the tenants will be at or leave the property, so as to ensure the best service.
Upon arrival, the tenants will be met at the property by a representative of Mauritiusvillas.mu. Our representative will assist to settle in and to complete the arrival formalities,in particular the inventory list. The representative will also check that the premises and the furnishings are in a correct state, that the bedding is in perfect condition, that all appliances and utensils are operating properly, and that the kitchen is fully equipped. Upon departure, the representative will contact again the tenants either on the eve or a few hours before their departure and check the inventory list.
5. Limitations of liability
Mauritiusvillas.mu acts only as agents for accommodation. The descriptions and the facts and all other information are based on the information given to us by the owners and are their sole responsibility. Mauritiusvillas.mu shall not be held liable for any fault on the part of the owner in this regard.
Mauritiusvillas.mu shall under no circumstances be liable for any kind of loss or damage of property or for any kind of accident or injury, which may occur during the stay of the tenants.
Mauritiusvillas.mu shall not be liable as a result of any act by the owner or the tenant, nor shall Mauritiusvillas.mu be responsible concerning problems with local services such as water, electricity supply or telephone network.
6. Claims
Any claims in connection with the rental property shall be made to Mauritiusvillas.mu within 24 hours of occupying the premises. No claims will be entertained once this deadline has passed.
